Types:
- single-sided satin: one side is softer and shinier than the other.
- double-sided satin: both sides of the ribbons are identical
grosgrain: the texture is streaked
Organza: ribbon with a semi-transparent center
Fibers
Nylon: more economical fiber
Polyester: better quality, better resistance of the ribbon to washing and heat
Acetate: fiber created from wood or bamboo fibers, economical. Sensitive to heat. If you must iron your ribbon, make sure it is at the lowest possible temperature. Do not wash. Biodegradable and more environmentally friendly.
FAQs
Can we print on these ribbons to make labels?
Yes, but there is no guarantee as to the resistance of the print and the ribbon when subjected to washing. They are not a good choice for making brand labels or permanent identification labels.
You could have these ribbons printed on to make wrapping ribbons or to decorate at a fancy event. The wider ones can also make beautiful ribbons for prizes in competitions or Olympics.
